Formula1 IQ is a Formula 1 trivia app for iPhone and Android, and this is its website. This page explains what we collect, why, and how to get rid of it.
This website. It describes the app: there is no account, sign-in or form here. We keep anonymous usage counts through Google Analytics via Firebase, plus the technical data your browser sends with every request (IP address, user agent, referring page). Cookies are used only for those analytics.
Playing as a guest. Every game plays without an account. Your guest progress (points, streak, Quick Race best and results per game) and your settings are stored on your device only. We do not receive them. Uninstall the app and they are gone.
Playing a round. Questions come from our server, and your guesses are sent there to be checked. A guest's rounds are not linked to any identity, and a live round is deleted from our server shortly after it ends. Like any server, ours sees your IP address, which we use for rate limiting and security logs.
Signing in. Signing in with Google or Apple is optional. The provider confirms who you are with a signed token; we never see your password. We store your provider account identifier, the name the provider shares (Apple shares it only the first time you sign in), your Google profile photo address if you sign in with Google, when you joined, and your progress: points, streak, the last day you played, your Quick Race best, rounds played and won per game, and your garage (below). While you are signed in, our server scores each round you play and banks its points to your account. Nothing else. On your device the app keeps a session token in the iOS Keychain or Android Keystore.
Global ranking and profiles. Signed-in players appear on the global ranking with their name, profile photo (Google only) and points. Tapping a player opens their public profile: rank, points, the collectables they own and the three pinned to their showcase. Your name starts as the one your provider shares; change it any time in Profile. Guests are not ranked.
Garage. When you unlock collectables we store which pieces you own, how many points you have spent, and your showcase.
Ads. The app shows ads through Google AdMob. In the EEA and the UK you are asked for consent before ads load, and on iPhone the system asks whether the app may track you. Google may use device identifiers to serve and measure ads under its own privacy policy. Where offered, change your choice at any time in Profile → Ad privacy choices.
Reminders. Play reminders are local notifications scheduled on your device: at most three after you stop playing. Nothing is sent from our server. Turn them off in Profile → Play reminders.
Children. Formula1 IQ is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
Selling data. We do not sell your data and we do not build advertising profiles of our own.
Deleting your data. Profile → Delete account removes your account and its saved progress from our servers and ends its sessions on every device. It cannot be undone. Signing out alone deletes nothing.
Questions, or a deletion request you would rather send by email: [email protected]. We respond within 30 days.
